Customer called up and told us their wall mounted air conditioning unit was producing poor airflow. Upon inspection we found that the internal barrel fan had a build-up of dirt and debris. To clean the wall mount A/C barrel fan correctly you need to isolate the unit and strip the unit fully to get access to the fan. The wall mounted A/C was stripped down and the barrel fan was removed completely. Once the barrel was out, we brushed off all the stuck surface dirt. Once the dirt was removed from the surface, we blasted the barrel fan multiple times with a high-power disinfectant de greaser spray. The barrel was now clean inside and out and out. When the barrel is out, we had room to clean the barrel housing. The internal housing was sprayed with a multipurpose disinfectant and was wiped clean.
The internal condensate drip tray had also become blocked with dirt and debris, so this was flushed out and cleaned with disinfectant too. Once the internal housings were clean the fan barrel was carefully put back into position and the unit was reassembled. Unit casings were sprayed down, and any dust or debris was hoovered and cleaned up by the engineers carrying out the work. The system was turned back on and the airflow has now significantly improved. A strip down of a wall mounted unit if needed can take just a couple of hours and give your wall mounted air conditioning unit the chance to run back to its full potential.
