Customers required a heat recovery unit to help bring in fresh air and expel dirty air for a gym changing room. The heat recovery unit was mounted above the ceiling with ductwork hung from 40x40 channel and rods, fixed to the wooden roof. Both the supply and extract ducting neatly enter each area, and a grille is mounted in the room below.
Heat recovery units prevent the fresh supply air from being too cold. The internal core of the HRU allows sensible heat to be transferred from the extract air. Essentially, the heat absorbed from the extract air heats the supply air that enters the room.
This setup allows the room to remain comfortable even when bringing in fresh air from outside. With constant air movement in the changing rooms, the room remains fresh and makes the customers' environment pleasant. Heat recovery units are very popular in changing rooms and offices.
