Air Conditioning Pressure Test
Server Room A/C refrigerant leak
Location: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

Customer reported their server room wall mounted A/C unit had stopped cooling. We attended site and found the unit was short of refrigerant, there was a leak somewhere on the system. To begin with all remaining R410A refrigerant was removed from the unit and reclaimed into a reclaim cylinder. Nitrogen was then put into the system at high pressure. The indoor and outdoor unit were completely stripped down, exposing all leak prone joints. All joints were checked with leak detecting spray to try locate the leak. We found a small leak on the outdoor condenser coil, which was in a repairable position. Nitrogen was evacuated and the leak was repaired with brazing gear. Now the leak was repaired we put nitrogen back into the system to check the repaired joint. We confirmed it was no longer leaking so we vacced and charged the system with the reclaimed refrigerant and added an additional charge for the refrigerant lost. System then powered back on and server room A/C began cooling again as should.
